Amateur Fishing License: mandatory for every fishermen that utilizes fishing reels or wants to fish from a boat.
If you are not a member of any club or fishing association, you must fill a form at the Fishing Department’s website (www.mpa.gov.br), print it and pay the fee.
Retirees or people over 65 (60 if women) do not have to pay the license.
The license is a governmental requirement, to control the exploitation of fishing resources and raise money to implement management and inspection plans. That way, they can assure the protection of fishing stocks.
